ABOUT
My name is Adam Trussell. I'm originally from Portland, Maine. I got my undergraduate degree in Boston at New England Conservatory and my master's degree from Rice University in Houston. My first full time orchestra job was in Omaha, NE. I spent six years there playing in the symphony and teaching at University of Nebraska at Omaha. In 2011 I won my position in the Oregon Symphony and began teaching at Lewis and Clark College and University of Portland in 2014. In 2018 I won Principal Bassoon of the Oregon Ballet Theater. In 2018 I also won a position playing contrabassoon with the Houston Symphony which is both very exciting and a bit complicated. It's a big commute but I make it work! After 30 years of playing bassoon I feel like I know a lot about the instrument and I have the ability to help people with all things bassoon related. Please let me know if I can help you to buy an instrument, sell an instrument, teach you or somebody you know bassoon lessons, help with light repair, sell you bassoon reeds, or help you sponsor a student. My hope is to be a resource for students, parents, and band directors. Thanks!
(That's me all the way to the right with the contrabassoon)
